Last year our LDS homeschool group took a trip to the Washington DC temple in Kensington, Maryland. We first visited the Temple visitors center and had a great talk in the auditorium after seeing the Joseph Smith movie which was fabulous. The older kids (ages 12 and older) were able to go to the temple. It was a wonderfully rich spiritual experience to be with close friends in doing something spiritual together. We love all the fun and educational trips we do but this was something special to enjoy doing something quiet and uplifting with others that we value so much as friends. This picture was in front of the Mormon Temple visitors center last year. From Left to Right, Brandon, Brianna, Linda, Billy, Jadon, Mom Stephanie and Dallin.
True education seeks, then, to make men and women not only good mathematicians, proficient linguists, profound scientists, or brilliant literary lights, but also honest men, combined with virtue, temperance, and brotherly love – men and women who prize truth, justice, wisdom, benevolence, and self-control as the choicest acquisitions of a successful life-David O. McKay
