Our family attended the Blue and Gold Banquet last week which was wonderful. Melinda G did an excellent job organizing it. It had a Chinese theme. There were fabulous decorations done by the Damascus Ward. The food was scrumptious with lots of Asian treats and the speaker was Sister H.'s mother who had lived in China and told the boys all kind of interesting things about China. The Damascus Ward had also done a craft for the boys where they made Dragon masks. There were chopsticks on the tables and they even gave some awards that had little gifts wrapped in white Chinese take out boxes. I am always amazed at people who do such a great job on table decorations, they were awesome!
Each of the boys made a cake with the China Theme. Tina helped Billy with his. It was a wonderful event and our whole family had a great time. Thanks to the G's. we finally got a Webelo scout book for Billy and Jadon started working with him again on his requirements so he can pass off Webelos.
