Recipes for Entertaining: Gingersnaps

Gingersnaps
2 ¼ Cup flour
2 tsp ginger
2 tsp soda
1 tsp cinnamon
½ tsp salt
¾ cup shortening (I use butter)
1 cup sugar
1 egg
¼ cup molasses
Beat shortening and sugar together and add egg and molasses. Blend remaining dry ingredients together and gradually add to molasses mixture. Form teaspoons of dough into balls and roll in sugar. Bake on ungreased cookie sheet at 350 degrees for 8 to 12 minutes or until brown and crackly. Let set a few minutes on sheet before removing.
