I think the Scouting program is such an excellent program for boys. This past weekend we distributed the Scouting for food bags and will be going this coming Saturday to pick up the food that people leave next to their mailbox for the program. The boys and girls from our church ages 14 and up will be going to the Food sorting project in Frederick to help sort the food so that the food bank can distribute it to those in need.
True education seeks, then, to make men and women not only good mathematicians, proficient linguists, profound scientists, or brilliant literary lights, but also honest men, combined with virtue, temperance, and brotherly love – men and women who prize truth, justice, wisdom, benevolence, and self-control as the choicest acquisitions of a successful life-David O. McKay

October 2008 Boy Scout Court of Honor
Our Scout Troop, Troop 622 recently had a Scout Court of Honor. Many of the boys earned merit badges and advancements from their acheivements at Scout Camp this summer. Scout Camp was Camp Tuckahoe. Brandon was unable to attend because of a prior committment but Jadon and Dallin attended. Jadon earned numerous merit badges and we are so proud of both he and Brandon for all their hard work. Dallin was too young for Scout camp this past summer so he is just starting in the program and Billy will be turning 11 this month and will be moving from Webelos scouts to regular Boy Scouts. Unbelieveable that we will have 4 boys in Boy Scout troop 622.
